The MIGHTY Fitzroy River! I could post tens of photos here. But, I will just post a handful, to show the contrast between what this river appeared to me, at Fitzroy Crossing, compared to how it should look all the time, when I saw it at Willare. A video is the only way to do justice to what this river should be - IE, it should be like the Murray River, flowing all the time and providing water for irrigation. Looking at the new bridge. I don't know why they kept this path. Someone told me its a legacy from the construction, but to me it is unsightly. Walking along the path under the bridge, you have to duck your head. All this does is create a place for Aboriginals to sleep, when what the Government/s should be doing is building housing for them! First look at the river looking east, sunset, Tuesday December 20th. Looking at the west-side of the river at Fitzroy Crossing. The Fitzroy River at Willare. This is what the whole river should be flowing like and looking like ever day!
All Shook Up is how I certainly was when I learnt that Robert Sadler was part of the team that built the seismometers used on the Apollo missions. I spoke to Robert every two months from 2014 until 2021 before he passed away at age 94, and updated him of the Citizens Party's campaign. I post here the text of an article with the same title he wrote which was published in Sky and Space magazine Feb-March 2000. Thanks to Joseph Mate for the original scan! Cheers, Robert, you're in immortality!-DJM
Wyndham - Where 5 Rivers meet the Sea The next morning, I went from Kununnrra out to the north-western-most-town in Australia: Wyndham. Its where 5 rivers meet the ocean. What this town could be if the region was given access to a Fitzroy River Scheme, towns, cities, and creartive life and opportunities for people who would want to move there! I would!!!
